EMDR (eye movement desensitization and Reprocessing)

One of the most transformational trauma treatments today, EMDR offers a less cognitive approach to healing and restoring a sense of confident Self knowing. This approach allows us to work holistically with difficult memories (both young memories or recent) to allow time and space for all parts of your experience (intellectual, feelings, emotions, and somatic) to align and process together.

EMDR has a range of applications and is personalized to your history, tolerance, and preference. Some people do well with a structured approach (less talk therapy integration), and many people do well with a loose structure where there is time to slow down and process in between EMDR sessions. This is always a collaborative conversation that honors your pace and goals.

After becoming certified in 2021, I’ve spent the past 5 years using EMDR daily and deepening into my practice and connection with this model. It is truly inspiring the change this approach can bring to people’s lives. In clinical terms, noticing a significant decrease in anxiety, improved sleep, less rumination, and far less perfectionism. In human terms, a beautifully deep connection to spirit and heart. Many people simply notice themselves making different decisions in their daily lives, caring for themselves and people around them in a new way. It is both a challenging and beautiful process to move through, and ultimately one that most find very important.
